Public Policy

The Partnership is the primary business advocate for the Houston region. The Public Policy Division works hand-in-hand with the Partnership policy committee members, board members, elected officials and outside organizations as a regional facilitator for issues affecting the business community.

Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee

As the largest economic development organization in the region, the Partnership is tasked with marketing the Houston area to relocating and expanding companies. The Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee is the primary business leadership committee that provides oversight, guidance and assistance for the Partnership's regional economic development initiatives. There are a number of targeted Committees under this Advisory Committee. 

International Investment and Trade Advisory Committee

The International Investment and Trade Advisory Committee (IIT) is the primary business leadership committee that provides oversight, guidance and assistance for the Partnership’s  international investment and trade initiatives. There are a number of targeted Committees under this Advisory Committee. 

Network and Gain Career-Enhancing Knowledge

Business Resource Groups offer employees opportunities to expand personal and professional relationships, gain career-enhancing knowledge and develop your business with others who share common goals, interests, issues markets or industry sectors.

Build your business in foreign markets by learning valuable information on how to reach global customers, including possibilities for your next export market.

Participate in peer-to-peer opportunities in this prestigious networking group for the most senior female executives from member companies with $100M+ revenue.

The Future of Texas series features elected officials and policymakers shaping our state's future, giving Partnership members the opportunity to engage with these leaders and hear their perspectives on our city and state's most pressing issues.

Grow the region’s future business leaders and empower young talent through professional development, valuable connections and access to Houston’s thriving business community. Members include young professionals and entrepreneurs striving to grow, connect and thrive.

Access business skills and opportunities that will help brand and develop your regional and neighborhood business. This program is available exclusively to Partnership members located in our 11-county region, Districts, Wards, Main Street businesses and other unique economic zones and business centers.

This important program provides HR professionals, ERG leaders and recruiters with access to information to grow their companies’ most important resource: talent.

Councils revolve around eight timely topics and feature information sharing and networking components.

Houston's rich arts and culture scene is integral to the quality of life enjoyed by Houstonians. This Council serves as a vital link between businesses and the arts community, creating connections to ensure that our region remains culturally vibrant.

Houston is America's most diverse city. This Council explores how Houston's business community plays a critical role in advancing Houston as America's most inclusive and open city, one that truly offers opportunity for all.

From new commercial developments to trends affecting regional development, this Council will examine where the new jobs and announcements occur and explores issues related to expansion of your business. This Council connects you with the leaders making the next big thing happen in Houston.

A strong education system, including early education through graduate school, is the bedrock of a successful community. This Council explores developments in education and how these trends impact our quality of life along with our ability to bring new businesses and attract top talent to Houston.

As the Energy Capital of the World, Houston is the headquarters and the intellectual capital for virtually every segment of the energy industry including exploration, production, transmission, marketing, supply, and technology. This Virtual Meet-Up explores how Houston's largest industry continues to lead in this critical sector while also advancing innovation that supports the transition to a more efficient and sustainable, low-carbon future that also accommodates global demand growth.

Home to the largest medical center in the world, this Council explores the heartbeat of Houston's medical industry. This series features the leading minds and innovators driving the latest trends in health care delivery along with research and commercialization.

In order for Houston to continue moving forward as a great global city, we must further the innovation eco-system in order to attract tech and start-up companies. This new council for 2019 will examine how the greater Houston region can attract high-tech companies and talent and develop physical and financial infrastructure needed to foster a thriving innovative community.

Houston is a vibrant city of lush green spaces, award-winning dining, and a thriving arts and entertainment scene. Outsiders are consistently surprised to learn about everything Houston has to offer. This Council provides you the opportunity to connect with leaders dedicated to making Houston a great place to live.

27th Annual Golf Classic

The Greater Houston Partnership returns to the greens for its annual Golf Classic on Thursday, November 17 at the Memorial Park Golf Course. The 2022 Golf Classic is chaired William (Bill) Toomey, President of Houston and Central Texas Region at Truist. The Partnership's Golf Classic is Houston's premier business tournament, bringing C-suite leaders together to tee-off while supporting the organization's mission of strengthening Houston through key initiatives including growing a strong, diverse economy, ensuring a great quality of life, creating opportunity for all Houstonians with a foundation of race equity and inclusion. The 27th annual Golf Classic benefits the Greater Houston Partnership and the Greater Houston Partnership Foundation. Your support can be offered in two ways, as an ordinary business expense to the Greater Houston Partnership, Inc., a 501c6 business organization, or as a charitable contribution to the Greater Houston Partnership Foundation, a 501c3 organization.
