As Vice President of Human Resources at the Greater Houston Partnership, Maurisa serves as a strategist and business partner for the organization on talent management, compensation, perks and benefits, career development, process improvement, organization development and general human resources administration.

Maurisa leads the Partnership’s talent management efforts with a focus on strengthening staff professional and career development. She is responsible for career mapping, workforce planning, talent acquisition and supporting a positive workplace culture.

Maurisa joined the Partnership in 2014, serving in a senior generalist and then HR manager role, primarily responsible for managing the human resource areas of recruiting, performance management, and developing and maintaining policies and procedures. She became the HR Director in 2019 and Vice President in 2021.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Maurisa grew her career in various HR roles at Oceaneering International, and Employment and Training Centers. Maurisa brings a variety of human resources experience. She earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and her Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Houston Baptist University.

Maurisa adopts the servant leadership philosophy and in her spare time is most fulfilled when helping others. Maurisa is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Child Advocates of Fort Bend, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her spare time is spent with her family, traveling, and upcycling antique furniture.
